Cosmetic Surgery Recovery - What To Expect After Plastic Surgery

To ensure that you recover faster after a facelift. Make sure you apply the following advice:

Exercise

Take a gentle walk around the park or around the house. Doing this would not only increase your blood circulation and improve your recovery time, it would take your mind of other things in your life. Exercise is a great stress reliever.

Avoid Blood Thinners or Anti-Coagulants

Although you may suffer from headaches and nausea after surgery, avoid taking blood thinners like Aspirin. Because your wounds are still healing, internal bleeding may still occur. Taking these medications will reduce the healing times and cause internal bleeding.

Washing

Use shampoo or cleansers that are recommended by your surgeon or other health professionals. Some shampoo may irritate your skin and increase swelling. Don’t use any shampoo, use shampoo that is recommended by your surgeon. Preferably use a mild shampoo to wash your hair and be cautious around the sutures. If you follow these advice, it would take approximately three to four months to fully recover. In addition, the bruising, swelling and numbness will disappear after two weeks.
